iDay in San Francisco

It was pretty lively when I visited the Apple store in downtown San Francisco yesterday and made a video post, where I avoided scary clowns and wished for puppies. (The Huffington Post also posted it here.)

But, after a visit to Palo Alto today, I had had it with the iFrenzy (and also had to feed my two iKids at 6 p.m. when the iPhone went on sale).

So I sent the very able AllThingsD.com’s Associate Editor John Sullivan downtown to chronicle the event in San Francisco for Web posterity.

And he totally chatted with those scary clowns–a much braver reporter than I.

I think going public today is almost like a Bataan death march. I think Wall Street — this will insult many people — but I think in many ways it bears a resemblance to organized crime. It is legal today what they do, but what they do is manifestly unfair.
