Hello Ryan!

While we were visiting at Mahalo, we ran right into Ryan Block, the majordomo of Engadget–the geek-lovers’ Web site that was once part of Jason Calacanis’s Weblogs empire. It is now owned by AOL, which forked over a large bag of cash, mostly due to the popularity of Engadget, to buy the company.

Block was getting ready to throw a party for attendees of the E3 games conference in Santa Monica, Calif., so we decided to have a little video chat about the iPhone–Engadget’s bread and butter of late, including such posts as an imagined mock-up for a cheaper next-generation Apple device pictured here–and also WAP and other trends.

But, of course, we asked about life at AOL. Sorry, Ryan!

Then again, she is blogging, and the internet would have us know only bloggers take bribes…

    Think about it.
