"Linkin Park" Removed From Apple CEO's Celebrity iTunes Playlist

showtime.jpgLooks like there may be something to rumors that Apple (AAPL) is planning a special event for the end of February. “Nu metal” rockers Linkin Park are working with Apple on a “secret” concert in New York City, according to band member Mike Shinoda. “Look forward to a special show that we’re doing in NYC in conjunction with Apple,” Shinoda wrote in a post to his Web log. “Shh … it’s a secret.”

Or a carefully orchestrated leak.

Incidentally, Linkin Park’s tour schedule puts the band in New York City on Thursday.

Just as the atom bomb was the weapon that was supposed to render war obsolete, the Internet seems like capitalism’s ultimate feat of self-destructive genius, an economic doomsday device rendering it impossible for anyone to ever make a profit off anything again. It’s especially hopeless for those whose work is easily digitized and accessed free of charge.
