With the newswires full of stories about Apple (AAPL) and all attention focused on CEO Steve Jobs, his health and his medical leave of absence, Motorola (MOT) announced it’s laying off 4,000 workers in 2009, with 3,000 of them in the company’s flagship mobile phone division.
