What a surprise. A politician looking to raise funds, no doubt, by crying, “Won’t someone please think of the children?”

    The problem is:

1: It treats honest people like perverts.

2: Perverts tend to be tech savvy (trying to stay a step ahead of the man, after all) so they will no doubt open up their phones and disable the warning.

3: Are we going to suffer with video cameras that make annoying sounds the whole time they’re shooting? (Remember Homer Simpson and his “everything is okay” alarm?)

4:Won’t somebody please think of the (hearing-impaired) children?

About Voices

Along with original content and posts from across the Dow Jones network, this section of AllThingsD includes Must-Reads From Other Web Sites — pieces we’ve read, discussions we’ve followed, stuff we like. Six posts from external sites are included here each weekday, but we only run the headlines. We link to the original sites for the rest. These posts are explicitly labeled, so it’s clear that the content comes from other Web sites, and for clarity’s sake, all outside posts run against a pink background.

We also solicit original full-length posts and accept some unsolicited submissions.
