Unlike Oprah, Letterman Does Not Even Pretend to Like–Or Even Know–Twitter

oh, twitter — I’ve HEARD of that… it’s got something to do with the INTERNET, right? ;D

He should use it for the same reason that anyone / everyone should use the Internet:

1. it doesn’t suck (like TV)

2. real people use it

I think those 2 are already good enough — maybe others can find more.

Just now it occurred to me, though, that perhaps entertainers don’t like the idea of being on the same level as the people Jay Rosen calls “the people formerly known as the audience”?

I love Letterman. I also love Conan but I hate LA. I wonder how much Conan is getting for that dumb “Twitter Tracker” bit he uses ? I don’t use twitter. I don’t need to know anyone’s play-by-play life. I’m too busy living my own. I check out my friends’ postings on facebook. I check the news on-line. And then, if I REALLY need to know something immediately, I USE THE PHONE and actually SPEAK into it.
