Sucks that he kept dodging your questions with the classic “That's a good question now I'm going off on a tangent.” or “we are looking at it.” But good on you for not letting up.

This is terrific Web-centric reporting, but your technology still gets in the way of the experience.

Why don't these videos work on the iPhone? I assume this is delivered using Flash. Perhaps you should switch to QuickTime and h.264 to deliver cross-platform Web video content or at least provide a YouTube-compatible cross-link for iPhone Readers. Otherwise why put such content on the mobile version of the AllThingsD site at all? I had to switch to my desktop to view it, and even that didn't work porperly.

I started viewing it in the default High Quality mode, but later switched to Full Screen (and then later) to HD. It's ironic that my lethargic Comcast “broadband” Internet connection doesn't seem to be fast enough to serve the HD version of this video. After awhile, the video just stops, and gives way to a black screen with what I recall as RGB dots all over the place…When this happened, the audio continued to work, but not the video…To restart the video, I had to stop it, clear the Safari Cache, Delete the History and then reload the page and go through the entire full screen/HD switching again. The HD video finally ran for awhile yet again, but I eventually, I had to restart all over again for a third time.

Also, this Comment Window doesn't work properly in Safari. If you try to expand the Comment Window, which Safari does allow, scrolling, the type justification, and even text insert points get all screwed up and the sentences and paragraphs become non-sensical.

I guess “All Things D” isn't all things, all the time…

The video was provided to us by the third-party in the form of a Flash embed. Content produced by All Things Digital staff writers and during the D conference are available in dual formats – Flash and h.264 – for viewing on both desktop web browsers and mobile devices like the iPhone. We'll look into getting an h.264 version of the interview.

It's silly that this blog entry, which includes a is displayed in a web page that auto-refreshes every 15 minutes. This makes it impossible to watch the entire video without manually restarting and repositioning after the page refreshes.

Also, while you're looking into other content providers, please look for one that includes a pause button in the playback controls.

It's silly that this blog entry, which embeds a 39 minute video is displayed in a web page that auto-refreshes every 15 minutes. This effectively stops the video after 15 minutes.

We've extended the page refresh interval on this post.

When I first heard about Facebook, in 2005, I thought it was really stupid. And the same with eBay 20 years earlier.
