Apropos of Nothing: "TWITTER" License Plate (Only Seven Characters!)

While working out in my neighborhood in San Francisco, BoomTown spotted this vanity license plate on a Saab 900 SE parked in a driveway.

So I took a picture, of course, with my Apple (AAPL) iPhone for you to enjoy.

I also pinged Twitter execs about whether the car was one of theirs. CEO and co-founder Evan Williams said it was not his but likely some employee’s of the San Francisco-based microblogging start-up.

Talk about taking your work home.

Here are two photos of the California plate (click on images to make then larger):

Co-founder Biz Stone–probably sensing a possible business plan for Twitter–also snapped a photo of the license in the Rockridge neighborhood of Oakland and posted it on Flickr in late 2008:

You should’ve used the RoadTweets iPhone app then you could’ve tweeted it to your followers in real time with location info (and to Facebook stream as well)

As long as the newspaper was a bundle, no one ever had to care that people were buying it for radically different reasons. But once you go online, and people can unbundle things, where you can traffic directly to a story without going through the home page or any of the rest of it, suddenly what it — the individual choices made by individual readers come to matter a lot.
