Wired Exec Editor Goetz Talks About New Book on Intersection of Healthcare and Tech

Earlier this week–via bike, which was a very healthy thing to do–Wired magazine Executive Editor Thomas Goetz visited BoomTown HQ to chat about his new book, “The Decision Tree.”

The book is about how personalized medicine will be driven by data and focuses on how innovation in Silicon Valley is solving major public health issues.

The tools, said Goetz, will be a lot simpler than you might imagine, “not through some fancy stent or some magic drug, but simply through delivering better information to people, in a form they can understand and turn into action.”

Better living through apps? Kind of.

Apparently, this is because it is going to be all about information and scaling data that will lead people to better decisions about their health.
