Launch Day iPads Sold Out
Perhaps those claims that Apple will sell more iPads in the first three months than it sold original iPhones in the same period aren’t so far off. As of this morning, Apple (AAPL) has run out of launch-day Wi-Fi-only iPads. The ship date for iPad pre-orders, originally offered with a guarantee of delivery by April 3, has been pushed back to Tuesday, April 12, for orders placed today. This adjustment in ship date seems to suggest strong early demand for the device.
UPDATE: To be clear: iPad orders placed before today and given a “delivers on 4/3” designation will, obviously, still deliver on April 3. Orders placed beginning today, March 27, will not.
