    Walt,
just watched you on Charlie Rose. Brilliant! I agree with just about every point made. I think what's magical is that Apple continues to deliver products based on what the consumer wants and not from an engineering perspective. I've said time and again that if you can reverse engineer the wants and needs of the consumer and not allow engineers to dictate the experience, you win.
Now, imagine doctors no longer walking around with a clip board but an iPad connected to hospital and insurance info for patients, as well as physical diagnostic tools connection…Tricorder?!!! Stay tune for my apps!!!

Motley fool (www.fool.com) claims that by Saturday night the 2nd most downloaded ipad app was netflix, after ibooks. This makes one wonder how many of the ipad buyers were netflix subscribers (>13 million) who bought the ipad because movie downloads are free as part of their subscription. BTW, NFLX jumped over 6% today to $80.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching you, David and Charlie. A perfectly paced show.

Really? This is not innovative! The iPhone was a rip off of the Palm TX! Apple steals all of their ideas! Pathetic!

  • davebehappy

Ironic that I can't view this video on my iPad…

  • pablofaja

No surprise. Reed Hastings is smart. Make Netflix available on every device and platform available. People want convenience, and he knows it.

An idea is worth nothing. Implementation of an idea is where the value is added. Who conceives the idea means nothing to me. Who implements it to MY advantage gets my business. In your synopsis, the pathetic entity is Palm.

  • pablofaja

I agree! I like to say Palm had the opportunity in the “palm” of their hand but missed it. Apple seized it. You have to admit though that the TX is exactly what Steve Jobs looked at had the Apple build around for the iPhone. The thought that he is suing other for the UI design is absurd.

I'll never watch Charlie Rose again, lol. What a sell out. This is journalism? This is why big media is already dead. Charlie's already stooped to interviewing celebrities non-stop, why not sell episodes to corporations? I guess you do what you gotta do but I don't have to watch it.

  • Shawn_The_Bohn

Good luck watching all those movies when ATT takes away your unlimited data plan. I'm sure that will really increase the utility of spending 800$ on a giant un-phone.

  • Shawn_The_Bohn

You'll have to buy a new iPad for double the price in a month or two to get that feature.

    Well…That won't work.

  • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/NVKMZBDEZV7VMSLKMFQYS7BQ4Y m

That could be the case of not working.

Not likely. All patient medical records must be extremely secure and the ipad (at least this iteration) does not meet basic privacy requirements. Ditto government, law enforcement, military, security, legal – the enterprise application is missing from the ipad – it’s a great tool for consumers though!

One thing that we have learned is that piracy is not a pricing issue. It’s a service issue. The easiest way to stop piracy is not by putting antipiracy technology to work. It’s by giving those people a service that’s better than what they’re receiving from the pirates.
