Full D8 Interview Video: Apple CEO Steve Jobs

As promised, All Things Digital will today begin posting the full videos from our eighth D: All Things Digital conference, which took place last week.

As a kickoff, our number-one choice–and overwhelming request from readers, by far–is the opening-night interview Walt Mossberg and I did with Apple (AAPL) CEO Steve Jobs.

As usual, the iconic Silicon Valley legend did not disappoint, engaging passionately in a lively and news-filled discussion about a wide range of topics, including his thoughts on Apple’s fight with Flash-maker Adobe (ADBE); the impact of the iPhone, iPad and apps marketplace; his tumultuous relationship with Google (GOOG); the AT&T (T) situation; his ruminations on the future of the PC (it’s apparently a truck); and, most of all, his determination not to “let it slide.”

By that, he meant not to let anything slide.

And, indeed, Jobs presented a picture of an innovative exec firmly in charge and certain of his convictions about the future of computing. It is especially important to listen to him, since he has played such a key role in its history.

So, without further ado, here is Steve Jobs unplugged at D8:

Here's the thing. Thank you for posting the full videos. BUT is there any chance that if you embed a video of say an hour and a half in length on a web page, could your code monkeys set the auto refresh of the page to a figure greater than that of the length of the video?

I am very happy to be able to watch it on my iPad but it is really frustrating to have to keep reloading the page every 15 minutes or so.

Yeah, the auto-refresh has assumptions built-in and in Web development no assumption goes unpunished.

I just watched the whole video in my iPad and it was annoying that it would auto refresh every 15-20min.
Fix that for the rest of the D8 full interview videos.

great stuff by the D8 team. agree that a video downloadable or podcast format would be great. staying on a webpage and watching it is one thing, but being able to download the talk to your iPhone/etc would be ideal. great job guys
