AOL Sells Business You Didn’t Know It Owned

Ever heard of DMS Insights?

Until this morning, I hadn’t either. For your edification, it’s an online market research business, and AOL (AOL) has owned it for more than a decade–as in, before the Time Warner (TWX) deal.

Make that used to own: Tim Armstrong’s company has sold DMS Insights off to uSamp, another online market researcher. PaidContent pegs the deal price at $3 million to $4 million. Which means it won’t quite be enough to cover former AOL CEO Randy Falco’s payout this year.
