Citing “positive progress” in its talks with Research in Motion (RIMM) and local service providers, Saudi Arabia’s telecommunications regulator said it would, for now at least, allow BlackBerry services to continue beyond today’s deadline for satisfying the kingdom’s security concerns. The parties are looking for solutions that would meet the government’s need to occasionally spy on users.
