Google Gives Advertisers Direct Line to DirecTV

Despite a three-year effort, Google still hasn’t been able to list its TV Ads marketplace in the “Raging Successes” column, but a new partnership with DirecTV could give it a boost. Under the deal, Google’s TV Ads platform will offer national satellite inventory (including prime time) across 11 DirecTV channels: Bloomberg Television, Centric, Chiller, Current TV, Fit TV, Fox Business, Fuel, G4, Ovation, Sleuth and TV Guide. Combined with Google’s existing arrangement with the Dish Network, this gives TV Ads customers access to up to 30 million satellite households in the U.S.

About Voices

Along with original content and posts from across the Dow Jones network, this section of AllThingsD includes Must-Reads From Other Web Sites — pieces we’ve read, discussions we’ve followed, stuff we like. Six posts from external sites are included here each weekday, but we only run the headlines. We link to the original sites for the rest. These posts are explicitly labeled, so it’s clear that the content comes from other Web sites, and for clarity’s sake, all outside posts run against a pink background.

We also solicit original full-length posts and accept some unsolicited submissions.
