Gameloft: We Sold a Ton of Paid iOS Games

Apple CEO Steve Jobs recently proclaimed the iPod touch “the No. 1 portable game player in the world,” and while there may be reason to dispute that claim, there’s no question that the public has embraced the touch and its iOS brethren as a gaming platform. To wit, Gameloft’s announcement today that it’s sold more than 20 million copies of its paid games on Apple’s (APPL) App Store since it opened in July 2008.

And that’s one metric from one developer.

IOS may still be a nascent gaming platform, but make no mistake–it is a massive one.
