Viral Video: Yahoo's New Harmonica, Oops, Accordion Search

Here’s the official video from Yahoo about its new search upgrades, which include an “accordion” information presentation paradigm.

Yahoo (YHOO) unveiled a series of new search features last night, and the video explains how it’s going to compete against Google (GOOG) and Microsoft (MSFT) Bing.

hi kara, please mention the revenue that yahoo will soon be earning due to selling microsoft’s top sales clients on search. it is an under-reported issue and looks good for yahoo.

i think yahoo is pretty cool for adding helpful features that actually lessen the number of clicks that yahoo receives. that is smart business.

i could have told you that revenues would not be rising this quarter and that net income would be going up.

this is no surprise to me

i am in / i am up / i am holding my shares for the big $

here is why….

1. asian assets undervalued

2. yahoo marketcap is low by almost everyone’s account

3. display ads will grow for all players even if yahoo losses some share in display

4. search becoming more profitable per click — yes it is taking time but it will happen via the bing deal.

5. taking over microsoft sales — nobody has told me what this is worth. is it a hundred million extra dollars? is it a billion? what will yahoo gain in sales here?

6. zynga is coming to yahoo and that should increase the time spent on the site. yahoo is ramping up its games group.

maybe carol bartz is getting yahoo back on track. i wonder if this new search was done in house or contracted. certainly it is a cut above the normal yahoo offerings of the past.
