PayPal Helps eBay Beat Q3 Expectations

The continued strong performance of its PayPal unit helped eBay post higher Q3 profits than analysts were expecting. The auction giant reported non-GAAP net income of $0.40 per diluted share on revenue of $2.2 billion. The Street had been looking for $0.37 a share on $2.18 billion revenue. For Q4, eBay expects net revenue between $2.39 billion and $2.49 billion, with non-GAAP earnings per diluted share in the range of $0.45 to $0.48.
