Record Holiday Appetite for Apps, Smartphones
It seems that this Thanksgiving week, Americans indulged a healthy appetite for, uh, apps. Smartphones too. According to numbers measured by Flurry Analytics, over the holiday weekend the number of apps downloaded rose 25 percent in comparison with the weekend before, and the number of new mobile devices detected rose 31 percent. On Thanksgiving Day alone downloads were up 54 percent, while on Black Friday the number of new devices increased by 57 percent.
