Amazon.com Adds Web Support to Its Kindle Bookshelves

Along with supporting virtually every other platform, Amazon is expected to demonstrate a new version of Kindle for the Web today. An Amazon spokeswoman told ComputerWorld that the new Kindle for the Web will “enable users to read full books in the browser and [enable] any Website to become a bookstore offering Kindle books.” Analysts expect the launch to come in January. Yesterday, Google launched its electronic books strategy, called Google eBookstore.
