QOTD: Spotify Gets a Pat on the Head, But Not a Deal

We do see Spotify, and services like Spotify, as ever-more meaningful for our results.

Warner Music Group CEO Edgar Bronfman Jr. during this morning’s earnings call, making his most encouraging noises yet about the streaming music service. But while Warner works with Spotify in Europe, it has yet to ink a deal with the company for the U.S. As of this week, Sony is the only major label to do so.

Is simple. Record companies continue loosing money to ilegal downloads. Or provide multiple legal options to listen to music.

If teh service is free they get paid through ads. And if it is a paid sunscription they get paid their asking price. No wonder people pirate music. This record companies are just blinded by their greed to teh point where they are irrational.

Spotify pays so little to the music producer, it is more ethical for the listener to download from Bittorrent. At least that is honest thievery. Spotify is just pretending you’re not stealing.
