Gilt Groupe Acquires Home Decor Shopping Site Decorati

Gilt Groupe, the New York private sales company, said it will launch a broader home-shopping business with today’s acquisition of San Francisco-based Decorati, which offers upscale interior design products. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Gilt said its new Home offering will launch later this year, providing a mixture of full-price merchandise, daily flash sales and social tools. There will also be a channel focused on professional designers. The company will be competing against well-funded startups, like One Kings Lane.
