Yahoo Executive Talks Acquisitions, Slams YouTube Buy
Yahoo is “gearing up for a very big year” of acquisitions, said a senior director of corporate development at the Internet company.
Speaking on a panel at the Global Technology Symposium in Menlo Park on Friday, Yahoo’s Steven Mitzenmacher said the company had gone through a couple of years where acquisitions weren’t on the agenda.
“But we’ve come out now…guns blazing,” he said, adding that executives around the company “want to do more.” Yahoo made only a handful of buys over the last couple of years, including web content provider Associated Content for $100 million last May.
