I think the new commercial is an ode/response to the TED Talk “Simon Sinek: How great leaders inspire action.”

More like the TED talk is an ode to Jobs. He has been doing this kind of communication for years. Look at the Think Different ad campaign. Both Apple and Pixar are highly technical companies where the technology was always kept “backstage” and the mission was much broader.

Yes, the ad kinda reiterates what Jobs said about liberal arts meshing with tech when he introduced the iPad2.

Yeah; had to go to the desktop to view that legacy (Flash) video. It’s a tank compared to an iPad. W7 Home Premium, Digitizer pen, Dual-Core i5, Battery Life: 4.5hrs, 1.16 kg (2.55 lbs)… It’s nothing more than a laptop without a keyboard, which, by the way, it comes with. Been there, done that, didn’t work well. You can run Windows on a iPad IF you must: VMware View does amazing things for a lot less.
