HP Sues Ex-Executive Who Joined Oracle
Hewlett-Packard Co. sued a former sales executive Wednesday, alleging that he stole trade secrets from the company before joining rival Oracle Corp.
HP alleged that Adrian Jones, a senior vice president in its Asian operations, on Feb. 11 used a USB storage device to copy HP’s strategic and financial plans, sales figures, and employee data, among other information, according to a complaint filed in California Superior Court in Santa Clara County. Mr. Jones resigned five days later and didn’t return the copied files, the complaint says. A month later he told HP that he had accepted a similar position at Oracle.
