LivingSocial Offers Dollar Menu for Limited Time in Its Hometown

LivingSocial will be offering an extreme lunch special on Friday in the Washington, D.C., area in an effort to raise awareness for its mobile applications. The special event, lasting from 11 am to 2 pm, will mark down the price of lunch to $1 for an undisclosed number of establishments. The offer is designed to drum up support for the company’s new Instant Deals feature, which allows procrastinating bargain hunters to instantly find deals within a half-mile of their location and buy them on the phone (rather than buying them at least a day in advance). LivingSocial expects to expand the program to more cities soon.
