Electronic Arts Hires Ad Exec Dave Madden from WildTangent
After working for more than a decade at WildTangent, Dave Madden has accepted a position at Electronic Arts as the SVP of Global Media Sales.
Madden, who shares no relation to EA’s top-selling NFL title, was most recently WildTangent’s EVP of sales and marketing. In his new role, he will head up advertising across all of EA’s properties, including console, online, mobile and social gaming.
“There’s a lot of free content being monetized through in-game transactions. That’s the perfect playground for advertisers to add value,” he said.
At EA, his focus will be on figuring out a way for advertisers to easily participate in a way that scales–across all the various platforms–and leverages their video and other Flash assets.
Madden, who continues to own stock in Redmond, Wash.-based WildTangent, said his decision to leave was the next logical move for his career. He will now be based in Los Angeles. The Global Marketing team has 50 employees.
In his absence, WildTangent, which operates a game platform on PCs, has promoted Bill Clifford to the position of SVP and general manager of WildTangent Media.
