RIM Acquires Tungle
Research In Motion’s acquisition spree is proceeding apace with no signs of slowing down. In February, the company bought contact management start-up Gist. In March, it purchased Tiny Hippos, a maker of software for mobile application development. And today it’s snapped up Tungle, a Montreal-based social calendaring outfit.
“You didn’t think you would be reading this this morning, did you? Yup. It’s official. The team at Tungle will now be sporting new BlackBerrys,” Tungle founder and CEO Marc Gingras wrote on the company’s blog. “We’re really excited about this. We know there isn’t an industry more exciting than the smartphone and tablet markets. And RIM is a dominant player in this space.”
Terms of the acquisition weren’t disclosed.
