Sprint PlayBook Launch Postponed Again?

Looks like Sprint may have postponed the launch of Research In Motion’s BlackBerry PlayBook again. Originally scheduling the debut on April 19, the carrier subsequently pushed that date back to May 8. Now a leaked Sprint Dealer Bulletin suggests Sprint has delayed the launch a second time, without setting a new date for it.

Though it provides no explanation for the postponement, the bulletin does advise dealers to hold onto their PlayBook marketing materials and display pedestals, so a new launch date is clearly in the works. Perhaps, like Verizon, Sprint’s still not sure whether the PlayBook’s ready for market.

The carrier has not responded to a request for comment.

Just as the atom bomb was the weapon that was supposed to render war obsolete, the Internet seems like capitalism’s ultimate feat of self-destructive genius, an economic doomsday device rendering it impossible for anyone to ever make a profit off anything again. It’s especially hopeless for those whose work is easily digitized and accessed free of charge.
