Zynga Continues to "Acqhire," Nabbing Two Open Source Contributors

Zynga, the rapidly growing social games company, has hired two key contributors to the iPhone open source project called cocos2d through the acquisition of certain assets of Sapus Media. Both Ricardo Quesada and Rolando Abarca will be joining Zynga, where they will continue to support cocos2d. Zynga will not be acquiring the community site, cocos2d-iphone.org, which will continue to be managed separately. This is Zynga’s 13th acquisition in 12 months; however, many of its latest purchases have been for small groups of employees and no assets.
