Zynga, the rapidly growing social games company, has hired two key contributors to the iPhone open source project called cocos2d through the acquisition of certain assets of Sapus Media. Zynga will not be acquiring the community site, cocos2d-iphone.org, which will continue to be managed separately. This is Zynga’s 13th acquisition in 12 months; however, many of its latest purchases have been for small groups of employees and no assets.
