Exclusive: Another Longtime Yahoo Ad Sales Dude–This Time, Frank Weishaupt–Departs
Frank Weishaupt (pictured here), an 11-year Yahoo advertising veteran and one of its top sales execs, is leaving the Silicon Valley Internet giant.
Unlike several other recent departures, where high-ranking execs left for jobs at hot start-ups such as Zynga (Taylor Barada), Groupon (Lee Brown) and LivingSocial (Mitch Spolan), Weishaupt has no immediate plans to join another company.
His job as VP of the North Americas Ad Marketplaces will be taken over by Joel Jones, who has been serving as Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz’s chief of staff and previously worked in corporate strategy.
Jones will report to Yahoo ad sales head Wayne Powers.
Weishaupt’s last official day is June 1, said a Yahoo spokeswoman, who confirmed the departure to BoomTown.
