ATD Invades Groupon’s Chicago HQ (Video)
Last week, my partner-in-crime-and-bloggery, Walt Mossberg, and I were in Chicago for a Wall Street Journal event, so we took the opportunity to visit the global HQ of Groupon there.
The social buying company has been going like gangbusters over the last year, both in terms of valuation and growth.
That includes its staff in its Chicago office, which feels like a crazy beehive with a very young staff of can-do techies running around like, well, a very young staff of can-do techies.
Groupon CEO Andrew Mason declined to be interviewed for the video–mostly because he looked like an unmade bed and I would have asked him about the start-up’s pending IPO. But he’ll soon be on the hot-red-seat at the upcoming ninth D: All Things Digital conference in two weeks.
