Look What Happens When You Drop an iPad 2

Well, we already know that the iPad 2 can blend, but the folks at SquareTrade wanted to see just how well a new iPad–both with and without a Smart Cover–can withstand a fall.

They started with a waist-high drop of both iPads onto cement.

And, they were kind enough to share the video first with AllThingsD.

I don’t want to spoil all of the surprise, but let’s just say that Apple’s Smart Cover might be a smart choice for more reasons than just the fact it is a quick way to turn the tablet on and off.

That said, if you are planning on dropping the iPad, or are just the klutzy type, you might want to opt for an even sturdier case, of which there are many.
