Alipay Gets Its License to Operate in China

Alipay, the online payment service of Alibaba Group recently spun off into a separate entity controlled by Alibaba CEO Jack Ma, has been granted its license to operate in China. No official comment yet from Yahoo, which owns 43 percent of Alibaba and has been involved in an increasingly heated discussion about the fact that it apparently owns none of Alipay.
