Oracle Buys Web Software Player Fatwire

Two days before it is to report quarterly earnings, software giant Oracle said it had closed a deal to acquire Fatwire, a privately held Web software firm. Financial terms were not disclosed. Fatwire specializes in software that companies use to manage their Web sites. Oracle said the acquisition, which will close later this year, will extend its reach in the business of helping companies control the experiences their customers have online.
