IBM Shows Its Earnings Muscle

If there were any doubts that IBM could continue to maintain its earnings power, they were allayed today. Big Blue is just now out with its Q2 results, and it beat the consensus estimates handily.

Earnings were $3.09 per share versus the consensus $3.03, while revenue was $26.67 billion compared to the street’s $25.35 billion. It also raised its guidance for fiscal 2011, saying it expects to earn $13.25, up from the previous estimate of $13.15.
