A person who wanted to buy apple stock must be kicking themselves now for not doing.

I was laid off during the 2001 recession. I had to divest the stock I had at the company I was with and put most of it in Apple. It took a couple of years before I could be fully employed again, and during that time had to sell my stock (in part to pay AMT taxes on money I never received).
Sometimes you just have to laugh at life.
Of course there’s an alternative universe where I kept my stock, made millions more and then died when my Ferrari crashed.

Back when I was a penniless grad student, I encourage my parents to sink as much as they could into Apple stock. It was then selling for $13. It later split two-for-one. They ignored me.
A $13,000 investment then (late 90s) would now be worth, wait for it…
Along with original content and posts from across the Dow Jones network, this section of AllThingsD includes Must-Reads From Other Web Sites — pieces we’ve read, discussions we’ve followed, stuff we like. Six posts from external sites are included here each weekday, but we only run the headlines. We link to the original sites for the rest. These posts are explicitly labeled, so it’s clear that the content comes from other Web sites, and for clarity’s sake, all outside posts run against a pink background.
We also solicit original full-length posts and accept some unsolicited submissions.
