Grouped{in} Gives Up, Citing Google+ Competition

Development of Grouped{in}, a group messaging app similar to Beluga and GroupMe that was heavily advertised at this year’s South By Southwest conference, will cease, according to Austin-based creator Appconomy, which said the privacy-focused Google+ likely has a better chance of competing with Facebook than a small start-up does. Appconomy, meanwhile, plans to offer a mobile app platform for the Chinese market. Update: Grouped{in} will continue to be developed as part of the larger platform, according to Appconomy Co-CEO Brian Magierski.
