Skype for iPad Now Officially Official

It’s ba-ack.

After making a cameo on Wednesday, only to be pulled in the evening, the Skype app for iPad is now back in the iTunes Store, apparently for good this time.

In addition to voice and video calling, the app also supports instant messaging and sending texts, Skype said.

“Not only does Skype for iPad feature an interface that takes advantage of the large screen, but there are a number of additional iPad-optimized features found in this new app,” the company said in a blog post.

Skype has once again posted a YouTube video on how the app works. (The company briefly posted a video to YouTube back in June, but quickly removed it from public view.)

Update: It turns out the version of the iPad app that Skype released on Tuesday was the same one that was posted on Monday and then later pulled. A Skype representative said it was simply a matter of timing. Strange…
