Seattle’s BigDoor Picks Up OneTrueFan to Add Office in Silicon Valley

Seattle-based BigDoor, which helps to drive loyalty on publications through so-called gamification mechanics, has acquired San Francisco-based OneTrueFan. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. BigDoor’s CEO Keith Smith said the company’s five employees will stay in San Francisco, and bring the company’s total headcount to 31. OneTrueFan, which has thousands of smaller-to-mid-sized publications as customers, launched at TechCrunch Disrupt 2010 and is founded by Eric Marcoullier and Todd Sampson. Marcoullier was also previously co-founded IGN.com, a games site, MyBlogLog (acquired by Yahoo), and social data provider Gnip.
