Josh Elman Will Join Greylock Partners

Josh Elman, who was a product manager at Twitter until he was recently dismissed as part of a regime change, will be joining Greylock Partners as a principal on their consumer investments team.

Elman has been at many of the top consumer Internet shops in his career, with stints at Facebook and LinkedIn, along with Twitter.

Elman said today he’s looking to help Greylock invest in companies that address “how social is connecting people and how it’s changing businesses,” as well as related tools like analytics.

Greylock has a growing LinkedIn alumni presence, having invested in the now-public professional networking company; it hired co-founder and chairman Reid Hoffman as a partner and recently added former LinkedIn chief scientist DJ Patil as a data scientist in residence after he left the troubled start-up Color.
