Dalai Lama and Archbishop Tutu to Video Chat on Google+ Tonight

After the South African government did not grant a visa to the Dalai Lama to enable his participation in Archbishop Desmond Tutu’s eightieth birthday celebration, the two men agreed to meet virtually using Google+ video Hangout, starting at 1:30 am PT Saturday. Google+ leader Vic Gundotra said the video would be posted later, adding that responses to the event have been divided between delight and quibbles that the Dalai Lama doesn’t conform to the service’s contentious real names policy.
