As if Research In Motion isn’t getting enough lousy press these days …

Two RIM employees were arrested Thursday after drunkenly disrupting an Air Canada flight from Toronto to Beijing.

Originally scheduled as nonstop, the flight was forced to land in Vancouver when the two became so unruly that the flight crew was forced to subdue them. “They weren’t necessarily fighting,” a witness told the Toronto Star. “They were just simply being unruly in their drunken state.”

Both men were charged with mischief, given suspended sentences and one year’s probation, and ordered to pay Air Canada $35,878 each in restitution.

“Based on the limited information available at this time, RIM has suspended the individuals involved pending further investigation,” the company said in a statement.
