Joey, Have You Ever Seen a Paperless Cockpit Before?
To the list of airlines adopting the iPad as an alternative to paper flight manuals, add one more: American Airlines.
ZDnet reports that the airline has received Federal Aviation Administration approval to use iPads during all phases of flight and will begin doing so Friday.
While other airlines have been using the iPad on the flight deck for some time now — United, for example — American will evidently be the first to use the device throughout all phases of flight.
