SXSW Serendipity Gets Yet Another Helper: Kismet

Does the world need another iPhone app to help find people to talk to and drink with at SXSW in Austin this week? No. But here’s another good one, with a few tweaks. Kismet helps users meet friends through friends by creating spontaneous “pop-up” events; it gives them options of passive sharing or check-ins, and it avoids loneliness by showing nearby users with multiple degrees of separation. Kismet has funding from AngelPad, Triple Point Ventures and NEA.
