Friday iPad Preorders Sold Out, Demand “Off The Charts”

Hoping to get your hands on one of Apple’s new iPads this Friday, but haven’t gotten around to preordering one? Then it’s time to dust off that urban camping gear. Apple has sold out of launch day preorders. “Customer response to the new iPad has been off the charts and the quantity available for preorder has been purchased,” Apple spokesperson Trudy Muller told AllThingsD. Retail stores will still have supply for launch day, but ship times for orders placed online have slipped to March 19 from March 16.
