Apple, Samsung Agree to Settlement Talks

A new and interesting development in Apple’s pitched patent battle with Samsung. The two sides have agreed to moderated settlement talks. According to a court filing today, within the next 90 days Apple CEO Tim Cook and Samsung CEO Gee-Sung Choi will participate in a settlement conference that will be overseen by U.S. Magistrate Judge Joseph C. Spero.

Of course, participation in such discussions is in no way indicative of a pending resolution. As Oracle and Google have shown us, these things can pretty quickly head south, ending in a brutal courtroom battle.
