After Huge Mobile Boost, BranchOut Takes $25M More From Investors
BranchOut, the professional networking app and job board built on top of Facebook, had 10 million registered users in February, when it added the ability to connect with Facebook friends from mobile.
Now it has 25 million registered users, with 40 percent of new members joining from mobile and 50 percent of new users outside of the U.S.
If there’s one thing investors like, it’s hockey sticks. So Mayfield Fund, along with previous backers Accel, Norwest Venture Partners and Redpoint Ventures, has put $25 million into a Series C round for BranchOut, about a year after its last round of $18 million.
To be clear, San Francisco-based BranchOut doesn’t offer its own mobile apps — this is all on top of Facebook’s apps.
BranchOut has 13.1 million monthly active users, according to Facebook app-measurement source AppData.
BranchOut, which currently has 45 employees, said it plans to focus the new funding on expanding its team.
