Apple Ordered to Produce Documents in Suit Over iPhone Location Data

Another legal headache for Apple. A California judge has greenlighted a class action lawsuit accusing the company of collecting users’ iPhone location data without their express permission.

U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh ruled this week that the discovery phase of the class-action lawsuit will proceed and ordered Apple to turn over relevant documents to the plaintiffs’ legal team by May 17, without any “game play.”

An unfortunate turn of events for Apple, which fought to have the case tossed, arguing that the plaintiffs have so far failed to prove that they suffered any injury at Apple’s hands.

Apple did not respond to a request for comment on the ruling.
