Going to a Start-Up Accelerator Is Just Like Summer Camp, Right?

500 Startups today released a “Hunger Games” parody movie trailer shot with the 27 start-ups that make up its summer accelerator program.

“May the VCs be ever in your favor” is the motto for the goofy video, which includes Nerf and water-gun fights as well as mock killings. It’s almost too true to life, given the carnival nature of starting a Silicon Valley company these days.

Here’s the “Funding Games”:

500 Startups attracts an international crowd as compared to the many other incubators and accelerators. More than half of the summer batch comes from outside Silicon Valley, with representation from Slovenia, Mexico, Brazil and Italy.

The start-ups include a bunch of companies working on projects around kids and families, as well as a “Flipboard for fashion” and a “Netflix for ties.”

500 Startups previously made a “Thriller” dance video for its fall batch.
